Verizon and Black Pumas put on a show. It was enjoyed 33 million times.

The Story

Verizon is one of the world’s largest communication technology companies and offers more 5G devices than any carrier across a wide variety of leading manufacturers.1 But today, 5G feels more like a myth than a reality. To help make it feel real, Verizon invited Snapchatters to a concert experience of tomorrow, today, where their phones were their exclusive ticket to the show.

The Solution

Verizon introduced the first-ever 5G concert on Snapchat through augmented reality. To create the most authentic performance possible, Black Pumas’ lead singer, Eric Burton, put his moves on display in a high-end motion capture studio that’s typically reserved for the most sophisticated games and movies.

Every element of Burton’s performance — from his voice to his physicality to his playing style — was rendered in rich detail, bringing Black Pumas from the studio to the heart of New York City.

The Result

The AR Lens concert experience on Snapchat resulted in more than 33 million impressions for Verizon and Black Pumas.2
