Exploring a New Route

For more than 60 years, Contiki has been synonymous with youth travel. Popular among young wanderlusters, the brand has guided multiple generations through their adventure trips of a lifetime. This time, however, it was Contiki that needed a little guidance.

On Snapchat, the brand has achieved a consistent and predictable Return on Ad Spend. However, it recently saw diminishing returns after increasing ad spend. The general consensus? Contiki needed to do some exploration of its own – and Snapchat had just the ticket.

Passport to Performance

Put simply, Contiki needed to drive scalable growth without sacrificing campaign profitability. Tackling the scaling barrier head-on, Snap integrated a new placement into Contiki’s performance campaign mix: Sponsored Snaps.

Sponsored Snaps allow brands to deliver messages directly into Snapchatters’ Chat tab, which instantly boosts brands’ connection with its target audience. The Sponsored Snaps captured Contiki’s community–driven ethos, and reinforced its role in the creation of life-long memories. From sky diving to sea diving, the creative not only spoke to the brand’s offering, but acknowledged the importance of friendship and self-expression among Snapchatters.

By optimising these campaigns directly for Purchases, the brand wanted to unlock incremental reach by engaging a highly active audience of unique daily users directly within the Chat feed. It also wanted to improve cost-efficiency and acquire customers more profitably by leveraging the placement's lower entry cost.



New Strategy Broadens Horizons 

Snap’s solution was a game-changer for the youth travel brand. Sponsored Snaps transformed Contiki’s performance, dramatically improving efficiency and overall sales volume. When compared to the brand’s performance in June 2025, July proved much more successful. Its  campaigns were much more profitable, customer acquisition costs were more than halved, and the campaign generated more than double the number of sales.

Specifically, Contiki saw a 282.6% higher ROAS, a 72.1% decrease in Cost Per Purchase and 102% increase in purchases. This was achieved despite a 25% lower media investment, proving the strategy's success in driving scalable, profitable growth 1. Talk about a passport to success.
