How to create a Snapchat business account

Getting started on Snapchat is quick and easy. Just follow these three simple steps to create your Snapchat business account, and you're on your way!

1. Set up your personal account
To start advertising with Snapchat, you'll first need a personal Snapchat account. Set up an account online or from your phone using these directions. Don’t forget to download Snapchat for iOS or download Snapchat for Android!
2. Create your business account
Use your personal account username and password to create a business account by logging into Ads Manager, Snapchat’s self-serve advertising tool where you can create and buy ads on Snapchat.
3. Launch your first campaign
Once your business account has been created, you will be prompted to build your first Snapchat Ad within Ads Manager.

How to advertise on Snapchat

When creating a campaign in Ads Manager, you can choose between two workflows to get started: Instant Create and Advanced Create.

Instant Create

With Snapchat’s Instant Create, you can create an ad in 5 minutes or less to increase website visits, drive app installs and engagement, prompt Snapchatters to call or text your business, or attract local foot traffic to your storefront.

Advanced Create

Snapchat’s Advanced Create workflow lets you create multiple ad sets with more advanced targeting and bidding capabilities. You can also leverage the Snap Pixel to measure the impact of your campaigns and optimize accordingly.

Instant Create

Launch a single ad in just three steps:
1. Choose your objective
  • Website visits
  • Promote local place
  • Calls & texts to your business
  • App installs or app visits
2. Build your ad
Upload an image or video, or input your URL and let Snapchat import images directly from your website. 
3. Set targeting, budget and duration
Choose your audience and delivery options, including budget, goal, and bid. Publish!

Advanced Create

Create multiple ad sets with advanced targeting and goal options:
1. Build your campaign
Choose your objective (awareness, consideration or conversion), start date, daily spend cap and/or lifetime spend cap.
2. Build your ad sets
Choose your ad format, audience, and delivery options, including ad set budget, goal, and bid. Enable the Snap Pixel to measure the cross-device impact of campaigns.
3. Build your ad
Design your ad by adding your brand messaging, uploading creative and choosing your call-to-action. Publish!

Get started with a budget that works for you

With our daily minimum spend of just $5, businesses of all sizes can advertise on Snapchat.

Set your budget

Create a budget that works for you by setting daily budgets, lifetime budgets, and spend caps within your campaigns:
  • Daily budget: The daily amount you want to spend on a specific ad set.
  • Lifetime budget: The amount you want to spend during your campaign's lifetime.
  • Spend caps: The total limit you want to spend on your campaigns.

Optimize towards your goal

With goal-based bidding, optimize towards a specific action you want a Snapchatter to take, such as installing your app, watching a video, or completing a purchase. In order to bid on lower funnel goals, like purchases or sign-ups, you will need to install the Snap Pixel.

Measure results and take action

View performance metrics and take action on your Snapchat Ads in the Manage Ads section within Ads Manager. Monitor your campaigns, adjust your budget or pause your ads whenever you would like.
