The Snap Ads MCP Server Is Now Live

Your AI-Powered Decisions, Now With the Snap Ads Perspective

Earlier this year, we shared our vision for “human-first, AI-enabled advertising”, including plans to open our ads platform to third-party AI agents through Model Context Protocol. Now, we’re taking the next step with the launch of the Snapchat Ads MCP Server!

AI tools are becoming an important part of how advertisers analyze performance, uncover insights, and plan what to do next. But AI can only work with the information it can access. Without data from Snap Ads, Snap performance is missing from that analysis.

The Snapchat Ads MCP Server changes that by providing an official, Snap-hosted connection between Snap Ads API and supported AI agents, including Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini.

Bring Snap Performance Into the AI Conversation

Model Context Protocol, or MCP, is an open standard that allows AI agents to securely connect with external data and tools. In simple terms, the Snapchat Ads MCP Server makes it possible to ask an AI tool questions about your Snap campaigns and receive answers grounded in the advertising data you are authorized to access.

Instead of manually locating reports, exporting data, preparing spreadsheets, or writing technical API queries, advertisers can use natural-language requests such as:

“Summarize my active campaign performance for the last seven days.”

“Which campaigns and ad sets changed the most week over week?”

“What performance trends require a closer look?”

“Review my available diagnostics and identify issues I should investigate.”

“What patterns from my last 90 days should inform my next campaign plan?”

How to Connect

The Snap Ads MCP Server currently supports Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. Setup may vary slightly by agent, but the connection follows three steps:

  1. Add the MCP Server to your AI Agent.
Set up a new MCP Server connector using the following URL:
    https://mcp.snapchat.com/ads

  2. Sign in to Snapchat Ads.
When prompted, authenticate using your Snapchat Ads credentials.

  3. Authorize access.
An Organization Admin must first approve the AI tool at the organization level. Each Admin or member who wants to use the connection must then complete their own user-level authorization.

Organization Admins control which supported AI Agents can connect to their organization and what level of authorization each agent receives. At launch, all connections are read-only. When write capabilities become available, Organization Admins can enable them separately for each AI agent, ensuring access reflects their organization’s needs.

How Do You Stay in Control

Organization Admins authorize each AI agent separately and set the level of access it receives. At launch, all approved connections are read-only. When write capabilities become available in an upcoming release, Admins will be able to decide which AI agents remain read-only and which are granted read and write access.

Granting access to one agent does not automatically grant the same access to another. For example, an organization could eventually give ChatGPT read and write access while keeping Claude and Gemini read-only.

These agent-level controls work alongside the Organization and Ad Account permissions already configured in Ads Manager. An AI agent cannot access information or perform actions beyond what the individual user is permitted to do.

Building Toward More AI-Driven Advertising Workflows

AI already plays a growing role across Snap’s ads platform, from campaign setup and creative development to measurement and conversational experiences. We’re building for the next era of advertising: AI-enabled, connected, and driven by performance. The Snapchat Ads MCP Server is our latest step forward and there’s more to come.
